The Levite and His Concubine. Why?

The Levite and his concubine is probably the most stomach-turning story in the whole Bible, and we wonder why God would have preserved it there. The prophet Hosea, who showed up 400 years later, alluded to that story and helps us to understand a bit of why the story has been preserved.
